PetroStock — Modernise an app without stopping operations
We modernised PetroStock's mobile app without interrupting operations or throwing away what was already working.
PetroStock had an outdated mobile application. It needed to evolve, but could not afford for modernisation to affect the existing service or daily operations.
We analysed the existing product and carried out a progressive transition to a new app for iOS and Android. We modernised the technology and experience without breaking what already worked.
The challenge: change the foundation without breaking the service
PetroStock had an outdated mobile application. Continuing to build on the same foundation was becoming increasingly difficult, but replacing it all at once could affect a product already embedded in its operations.
We did not arrive proposing to throw everything away and start from scratch.
First, we understood how the application worked, its dependencies, and which parts could not fail during the transition. Then we defined and executed a roadmap to modernise it progressively and in a controlled way.
We developed the new application with React Native, using a shared foundation for iOS and Android. We removed duplication, simplified maintenance, and left the product ready to add new features without solving the same problem twice.
We also renewed the user experience and reorganised the application on a clearer, more stable technical foundation ready to connect with other systems.
The goal was not simply to change the technology. It was to move PetroStock away from an application that had fallen behind without blowing up its operations along the way.
We entered a working product, understood what could not fail, and completed its modernisation without breaking what already worked.
